Earlier this year, something incredible caught my eye: HalalTrip and CrescentRating announced they were looking for content creators to submit a video showcasing why their halal travel content stands out. The reward? An invitation to Singapore to pitch to international tourism boards, with a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to multiple destinations.

For Muslims Go Travel, this wasn’t just another opportunity—it felt like a turning point.

We got to work, crafting a video that reflected our passion for halal travel, storytelling, and the growing Muslim travel community. When we finally hit "send," we hoped for the best—but never imagined what would come next. A short while later, we received the news: we had been selected along with five other content creators as finalists.

We were going to Singapore to pitch to the Sarawak Tourism Board as part of the Content Creator Tank at the Halal In Travel Global Summit!

Our stay in Singapore was made even more special thanks to our sponsors at Royal Plaza on Scotts, who provided us with a fabulous and halal-friendly hotel experience. Everything from the warm hospitality to the location set the tone for what was going to be a truly unforgettable trip.

Then came the big day—11th June. We arrived at the venue for our pitch, nervous but excited. I stood on an international stage, not just representing Muslims Go Travel, but also representing the many Muslim travelers who deserve to be seen and heard. It was nerve-wracking, yes—but also deeply empowering.

The format of the Content Creator Tank added a competitive twist: creators went head-to-head to present to three different tourism boards. I pitched to the Sarawak Tourism Board, up against another talented content creator from Singapore.

Out of all the submissions from around the world, only six content creators were chosen to pitch in Singapore. Most of them were from Singapore and Indonesia—so it was both surreal and humbling to be the only one flying in from the other side of the world.

The next day, the winners were announced. While we didn’t win the all-expenses-paid trip, something unexpected (and even more meaningful) happened: the Sarawak Tourism Board personally told me they were very interested in my pitch and would be in touch to explore a potential trip in the future!

Beyond the pitch, we had the incredible opportunity to attend the Halal In Travel Global Summit itself. There, Muslims Go Travel connected with tourism boards from the Philippines, Hong Kong, Spain, and Singapore. We were no longer just sharing our vision—we were building real bridges, real relationships.

This event was more than just a summit. It was a celebration of how far Muslims Go Travel has come—and a glimpse of where we’re headed. To be invited to stand among international creators, present to tourism boards, and have our voice recognized was nothing short of monumental.

It’s easy to overlook moments like this in the hustle of content creation, but this one? We’re holding on tight. It reminded us why we started, who we’re serving, and how powerful representation truly is.

So, here’s to more moments like this. Here’s to more Muslims travelling, exploring, and being seen. And here’s to making halal travel not just possible—but extraordinary.
