This street makes Baghdad what it is! Al Mutanabbih Street located in the main area of the capital city of Iraq, is known as the intellectual hub, and was the spot where poets, writers and scholars spent much of their time. I found books here (mostly in Arabic and Persian) that were on display wherever I turned. But what made it remarkable was the fact that everything looked so tidy and clean! I've been to book markets before around the world and this one was definitely one of the tidiest!

Meet little Ibrahim from Mosul, Iraq!

Mosul is the most resilient place I have ever visited in my entire life! Whilst it was nice to visit the main landmarks around the city, I came here to hear and listen to the stories of the victims of a long-term war. People don’t come here to see the sites, they come here for the stories. Some made me laugh, whilst others had me in tears. Many of the young and old Mosulis are now working extremely hard to rebuild things and with UNESCO on their side, I see a bright future for Mosul. I am so happy I visited as I realised that the city is by far one of the best in terms of people. Whilst they are all extremely friendly and welcoming, they also have seen some crazy things which has only made them stronger, more passionate and above all eager. Eager to make things different for the next generation. Amidst the pain and sorrow I witnessed on their faces, I saw big smiles and laughter which made me realise one thing; what do we have to complain about! As Momen, a local who completely changed the course of his life after ISIS said, ‘our lives are measured by wars whilst yours is measured by years’. This got me thinking long and hard about how I perceive life and what on earth I’m doing with my time. I love Mosul and it’s people and absolutely cannot wait to return. I want to thank all the people involved in showing me around as there were so many who were extremely eager. Thank You Mosul and Thank You Mosulis!!

Imam Abu Hanifa Mosque in Baghdad - believed to be the place where Imam Abu Hanifa is buried. When the workers in the mosque realised that me and another brother who was also vlogging were foreigners, the invited us to eat and chat. It was an amazing experience and completely unexpected.
