On our recent road trip across the Southeast region of Turkey, we constantly made random stops at interesting sounding towns, cities and villages. On day 12 of our road trip, as we were returning from Mardin to Sanliurfa, we came across a sign that read Eyyupnebi. In English, this refers to the Prophet Job [Ayyub]. As we had some hours free before reaching the city of Sanliurfa, we decided to make a quick stop to explore this village which referred to the Prophet Job. Heading off the highway that stretched between Mardin to Sanliurfa, we were welcomed by a grand entrance and barren land for a further 16kms that led to a village which was home to some secret gems.
This post is a little different as it has a video which shows you our journey to this place and what we experienced. It’s not 100% guaranteed that the tombs we came across were the actual burial places of these graves. However, it was interesting regardless to go and investigate and explore what this village had to offer. Whatever the case, it’s crucial to remember that these places hold a special place in the hearts of Turkish people and therefore it was special for us to go and visit.
Hope you enjoy the video 🙂
