Okay, so this piece of information will most probably only be relevant during the pandemic. But who knows? We are all uncertain about the future and as it stands, whilst we’re in this pandemic, travellers must (must must must!) do this before they make their way to Greece. There was a man at the airport when I was on my way to Athens in August who was not allowed on the flight because he forgot to do this!
Let me get the vital bits of information out the way first:
Make sure you do what I’m about to mention well before 24 hours prior to your flight departure time.
Okay, so what is it that you need to do?
You have to fill in a Passenger Locator Form, also known as PLF more than 24 hours before your trip. It’s a very simple form and only takes around 10 minutes to complete.
Only one form needs to be filled in per household and not one each.
After filling in the form, the following will happen:
- Travelers will receive a confirmation email upon submission of the PLF.
- Travelers will receive the PLF with their unique Quick Response (QR) code on the day of their scheduled arrival in Greece (at midnight) and will be notified via email (the QR code will be provided in a link in the confirmation email).
- Travelers boarding or embarking on the previous day of the arrival will be allowed to do so upon showing the confirmation email, since they will receive their QR code during their flight or voyage.
Whatever you do, just make sure that you fill this form in more than 24 hours before your flight!
