Take a scenic cruise along the Bosphorus from Karaköy to Eyup to visit one of the most notable companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

With great views of the Golden Horn, Eyup is located just outside the city walls. The entire district gained its name from the person that is supposedly resting here. Eyup is Turkish for Abū Ayyūb al-Ansari RA who was the neighbour and close companion and friend of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Aside from having the privilege of offering him to stay in his house upon the Prophet’s SAW arrival into Medina, he also helped in many other ways.
Soon after the Prophet’s death, Abu Ayyub RA travelled to pass on the message of Islām along with other companions. He eventually passed as a very old man around the area.
As the Turkish Muslims believe this place to be the most sacred place on earth after the three most sacred sites, namely Makkah, Medina & Masjid al-Aqsa, visitors will see the masses flocking to this place to pay their respects to one of the closest companions of the Prophet ﷺ

The Mosque where Abu Ayyub RA is buried (Eyup Sultan Cami), is located a short walk from the ferry pier and is vibrant throughout the day and night. Filled with food courts, cloth shops, book stalls and many other shops, visitors can easily end up staying the entire day here.
